An Act to amend the Municipal Act to name Civic Holiday as Simcoe Day
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
1. Section 214 of the Municipal Act is amended by adding the following subsection:
Simcoe Day
(8.1)If the head of the council of a local municipality proclaims the first Monday in August in any years as a civic holiday, the holiday shall be known as Simcoe Day.
Commencement
2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
3. The short title of this Act is the Municipal Amendment Act (Simcoe Day), 1999.
