Young Authors Award

To celebrate the talents of young authors in the province of Ontario, a special award for young authors aged 18 to 30  is a included as part of the Speaker’s Book Award. This honour brings attention to a young Ontario author whose early work has had an impact on the province’s writing scene. The goal of the recognition is to bring greater public awareness to the province’s young published authors, help inspire them with the confidence to advance their writing careers, and make their youthful perspective on stories about our province more broadly known.

Fiction, non-fiction, poetry and graphic novels will be accepted. Special consideration will be given to works that cover aspects of Ontario, including its diverse culture and communities, its history and its people.  Submissions are welcomed in either English or French and must be published in Ontario.
