About the Community Exhibits Program

The Community Exhibits Program at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario offers museums, cultural groups, archives, and community organizations across Ontario a unique opportunity to share their stories, treasures, and perspectives in the heart of Queen’s Park. Through several dedicated display cases in the West Wing of the Legislative Building, groups can reach thousands of visitors each year.

Exhibit Dates: Yearly from January to December

Application Period: October 5 to November 15, 2026

This Year's Theme: Milestones: Defining Moments in Ontario's History

We invite proposals that explore the role that communities, events, and people have played in shaping the history and identity of Ontario. Below are some suggested exhibit topics:

• Trailblazers and Changemakers
  Celebrate individuals whose leadership, innovation, courage or advocacy helped shape Ontario's communities and history.
• Moments of Change
  Examine turning points that altered the course of Ontario's history; from social movements and legislative reforms to technological innovations and landmark achievements.
• Communities Through Time
  Highlight significant milestones in the development of Ontario's communities; including anniversaries, founding stories, cultural achievements, and local events.
• Hidden Gems of Ontario History
  Share lesser-known stories, artifacts, and milestones that reveal the richness and diversity of Ontario's people and heritage.
