Julia Munro, MPP from 1995-2018

Julia Munro is Ontario’s longest-serving female MPP, with 23 years of service. During her career she held a variety of roles including Parliamentary Assistant to Premier Mike Harris, Deputy Speaker, and Government Whip. From 2003 on, she served as opposition critic in numerous portfolios.

Ms. Munro was responsible for implementing a voluntary breakfast program for Ontario schools, receiving Royal Assent on her bill Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Amendment Act, 2001, and for introducing and championing a Small Business Bill of Rights.
