An Act to amend the

Northern Ontario

Heritage Fund Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1. Section 1 of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Act is amended by adding the following definition: "

Northern Ontario" includes,

(a)that part of the Bruce Peninsula lying north of a straight line drawn from Oliphant to Wiarton, and

(b)the communities of Oliphant and Wiarton. ("Nord de l'Ontario")

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Amendment Act, 2000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill amends the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Act to include, as part of Northern Ontario, that part of the Bruce Peninsula lying north of a straight line drawn from Oliphant to Wiarton, as well as those two communities.
