An Act to amend the Environmental Protection Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1. Part III (Motors and Motor Vehicles) of the Environmental Protection Act is amended by adding the following section:

Minimum oxygen content

23.1 No person shall sell, offer to sell, or use gasoline as a fuel for operating a motor vehicle as defined in the Highway Traffic Act unless the gasoline contains at least 2.7 per cent of oxygen by weight.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on January 1, 2005.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the Environmental Protection Amendment Act, 1998.
