Appointment of subcommittee
The Vice-Chair (Mr. Vijay Thanigasalam): Good afternoon, everyone. I call this meeting to order. We are meeting today for the purpose of organization to appoint an official opposition member to the subcommittee on committee business.
We have the following members in the room: MPP Donna Skelly and MPP Michael Mantha. And the following members are participating remotely: MPP Oosterhoff, MPP Coteau, MPP McDonnell, MPP Rasheed and MPP Mitas. Staff from Hansard, broadcast and recording, and legislative research are joining us remotely today.
To make sure that everyone can understand what’s going on, it is important that all participants speak slowly and clearly. Please wait until I recognize you before starting to speak. Since it could take a little time for your audio and video to come up after I recognize you, please take a brief pause before beginning. As always, all comments should go through the Chair. Once again, in order to ensure optimum sound quality, members participating via Zoom are encouraged to use headphones or microphones if possible.
Are there any questions before we begin? I see none.
Do we have a motion to appoint a member to the subcommittee on committee business? MPP Skelly.
Ms. Donna Skelly: I move that on the subcommittee on committee business, MPP Mantha be appointed.
The Vice-Chair (Mr. Vijay Thanigasalam): I see MPP Kanapathi joined. I’m just going to confirm and then we’ll continue. MPP Kanapathi, can you please confirm that you’re present and that you are MPP Kanapathi? Can you also confirm whether you are currently in Ontario?
Mr. Logan Kanapathi: Yes, thank you, Chair. Logan Kanapathi, joining from Markham, Ontario.

Ms. Skelly just moved a motion that on the subcommittee on committee business, MPP Mantha be appointed. Is there any debate?
I see MPP Hassan just joined. MPP Hassan, can you confirm that you are present and that you are MPP Hassan? Can you also confirm whether you are currently in Ontario?
Mr. Faisal Hassan: Yes, this is Faisal Hassan. I am here in Ontario, yes. That’s right.

Are members ready to vote? All right. All in favour? All opposed? The motion is carried. MPP Michael Mantha is appointed to the subcommittee on committee business.
