EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill amends the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 by repealing section 6.1, which provides for certain exemptions from rules relating to rent.

An Act to amend the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 with respect to rules relating to rent

His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1 Section 6.1 of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 is repealed.

Commencement

2 This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3 The short title of this Act is the Rent Control for All Tenants Act, 2022.
