MPPs sit in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Chamber

The 43rd Parliament began on August 8. Explore our website to learn what’s happening at the Legislative Assembly.

The Legislative business page lists a summary of all the different types of work in the House and committees. For example, you can see recent bills, explore the current committees, or learn about Hansard.

When the House is sitting, the day’s events are recorded and posted to the House documents page. They are separated into Hansard transcripts, Orders and Notices, and Votes and Proceedings.

Hansard

The Hansard transcript is the official record of House debates. A typical Hansard issue includes a table of contents, a transcript of what is said, divisions (votes), and a list of members and their ridings.

Hansard indexes organize topics debated in the House by subject or by the last name of the MPP speaking. You can also use the advanced House Hansard search tool to narrow your search.

Bills

Read about current public and private bills or search for a specific bill. View the bill, its status, debates, and which MPP presented it.

Committees

Small working groups of MPPs form committees and meet to consider bills or other specific issues that the House has asked them to review. See which MPPs are committee members and when they’re scheduled to meet.

Videos

Watch the House or committees livestreams in your web browser or on the Parlance app. You can also see an archive of members’ statements and question period.
