An Act to proclaim Mining Awareness Week
Preamble
The mining industry contributes significant economic benefits to the Province of Ontario. The importance of mining is demonstrated by the adage, “if you can’t grow it, you mine it”. Mining Awareness Week is an opportunity to increase awareness of the importance of mining to Ontario and provide an opportunity for us to learn more about mining projects, the value of mining and the careers and innovation mining enables.
Therefore, His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
Mining Awareness Week
1 The week beginning on the third Monday in February in each year is proclaimed as Mining Awareness Week.
Commencement
2 This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
3 The short title of this Act is the Mining Awareness Week Act, 2026.
