I beg to inform the House that, pursuant to Standing Order 71(b), the Member for Hamilton West—Ancaster—Dundas (Ms. Shaw) has notified the Clerk of her intention to file notice of a reasoned amendment to the motion for Second Reading of Bill 57, An Act to enact, amend and repeal various statutes (Sessional Paper No. 109).

The Order for Second Reading of Bill 57 may therefore not be called today.

Debate resumed, during which the Acting Speaker (Mr. Hatfield) interrupted the proceedings and announced that there had been more than six and one-half hours of debate and that the debate would be deemed adjourned.

Le débat a repris. Le présidente suppléante (M. Hatfield) a interrompu les travaux et a annoncé qu’il y avait eu plus de six heures et demie de débat et que le débat est réputé ajourné.

The Minister of Government and Consumer Services directed that the debate should continue.

Debate resumed and after some time the House adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
