Sevier was born in 1934 in Hamilton, Ontario. From 1952 to 1956, he attended the Ontario College of Art (OCAD) where he was an honours graduate with a medal. He returned there from 1965 to 1995 to teach design and illustration.
Known for his serene and atmospheric landscape compositions, Sevier’s paintings often explore the quiet grandeur of natural settings, reflecting the artist’s lifelong engagement with the Canadian landscape.
