I beg to inform the House that during the recess, a vacancy has occurred in the membership of the House by reason of the resignation of Michael Bryant as the Member for the Electoral District of St. Paul's, effective June 7, 2009. (Sessional Paper No. 445).

Accordingly, I have issued my warrant to the Chief Electoral Officer for the issue of a writ for a by-election.
