Kathleen O. Wynne, MPP from 2003-2022

Kathleen Wynne was Ontario’s first female Premier, sworn in on February 11, 2013 and in office until 2018. She was also the first Premier of Ontario to simultaneously take on the role of Minister of Agriculture and Food.

A long-standing member of Cabinet, Ms. Wynne has served as Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, Minister of Transportation and Minister of Education. During her 4-year stint as Minister of Education, she was instrumental in establishing the Minister’s Student Advisory Council. The Council invites students from all parts of the education system and regions of the province to share their ideas and advice with the Minister of Education on how to ensure Ontario’s schools remain competitive.
