As promised during the 1999 campaign, the work-for-welfare system should also be expanded by encouraging municipalities to undertake more workfare programs.

Mr. Dunlop - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, since the Prisoner Work Program makes a positive contribution to society by assigning low risk inmates to cleaning highways and graffiti-defaced buildings, immediate measures should be taken to expand the Prisoner Work Program to clean more highways and neighbourhoods in Ontario and that all assigned inmates be carefully screened, receive training and be dressed in their prison orange clothing. 2. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and the Maintenance and Standards Unit, please provide the number of orders for permanent rent reductions, including short-term rent reductions, and the number of Form T3's filed and the number of Form T3's that resulted in a rent abatement for each month of the years 1998, 1999, & 2000. April 24, 2001.

3. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and the Maintenance and Standards Unit, please provide the number of Form T6 applications received and include the problems listed and which resulted in orders made by the Tribunal for an abatement of rent, or authorized repair, or ordered repairs to be carried out within a certain amount of time, or required other appropriate action, and whether or not the problems listed were described as ongoing, and the number of orders issued authorizing a repair and charging the cost to the landlord, for each month of the years 1998, 1999, & 2000. April 24, 2001.

4. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and the Provincial Maintenance Standards please provide the number of written tenant complaints received regarding structural, electrical, inadequate heating, plumbing, pest infestations, and poor maintenance including the number of work orders issued for each area described and the number of deadlines that were met and missed in each area and the number of enforcement proceedings initiated for work orders in each area for each month of the years 1998, 1999, & 2000. April 24, 2001.

5. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Tenant Protection Act and the Investigations Unit please provide the number of complaints of tenants claiming harassment by a landlord, including the number of complaints found to be harassment by a landlord, and in each case, list the nature of the harassment, and the remedy or fine for each instance of harassment. April 24, 2001.

6. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal please provide the number of mediations conducted for dispute resolutions between tenants and landlords including the number that were resolved without going to hearings and the number of hearings for each month of the years 1998, 1999, & 2000. April 24, 2001.

7. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and the Maintenance and Standards Unit, please provide the number of Form C1E (Tenant Complaint about Maintenance) submitted including the number of which resulted in a work order being issued against a landlord by an inspector where there was a finding that there were maintenance problems within the rental unit or complex. Please include the number of work orders that are still outstanding. April 24, 2001.

8. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:

With respect to the Maintenance Standards Unit and the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal, landlords can submit a Form L6 under section 156(1) of the Tenant Protection Act, for an Application for a Review of a work Order to the Tribunal. Please provide the number of Order of the Tribunal made at hearings stemming from Form L6 applications that were decided in favour of the landlord and include the number of findings in favour of the tenant. April 24, 2001.

9. Mr. Caplan - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provide the following information:
