An Act to extend Highway 406 to Port Colborne

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1.  (1)  Section 36 of the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act is amended by adding the following subsection:

Highway 140

(2.1)  The part of the King's Highway known as number 140 is designated as part of controlled-access Highway 406 and the provisions of this Act and the regulations that apply to the King's Highway apply with necessary modifications to the part of controlled-access Highway 406 so designated.

(2)  Subsection 36 (3) of the Act is amended by adding "and a notice of the designation made by subsection (2.1)" after "controlled-access highway".

Commencement

2.  This Act comes into force on the 180th day after the day on which it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3.  The short title of this Act is the Highway 406 to Port Colborne Act, 2006.

The Bill amends the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act to designate Highway 140 as part of Highway 406.
