An Act to amend the
Dental Hygiene Act, 1991

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1.  Subsection 5 (1) of the Dental Hygiene Act, 1991 is amended by striking out "section 4" and substituting "paragraph 2 of section 4".

Commencement

2.  This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3.  The short title of this Act is the Dental Hygiene Amendment Act, 2004.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill amends the Dental Hygiene Act, 1991 to remove the present restriction that a dental hygienist is not allowed to do scaling teeth and root planning, including curetting surrounding tissue, unless a dentist has ordered those procedures.
