Second Reading of Bill 30, An Act to reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries.

That, in the opinion of this House, the Minister of the Environment must confirm that the region impacted by the Green Lane landfill purchase is a `willing host', and that the Government of Ontario must guarantee that the landfill will not be in operation after the current scheduled closing date of 2018, and that the City of Toronto, acting as a `good neighbour', must develop a comprehensive plan to ensure that the necessary policies and technologies are adopted and in place, so that as of January 1st, 2012, the City of Toronto will no longer dispose of any waste at the Green Lane landfill site.

The question having been put on the motion for Second Reading of Bill 30, An Act to reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries, it was declared carried and the Bill was accordingly read the second time and Ordered referred to the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills.
