Ordered, That notwithstanding Standing Order 96(d), the following change be made to the ballot list for private member's public business;

Mr. Christopherson and Mr. Sergio exchange places in order of precedence; and notwithstanding Standing Order 96(g) notice for ballot items 41 and 42 be waived.

The House expressed its condolence on the death of Edward Good, Member for the Electoral District of Waterloo North from October 17, 1967 to June 9, 1977.

Ordered, That Bill 90, An Act to promote the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste be called for Second Reading debate at the commencement of Orders of the Day this evening. Upon completion of the debate or at the end of the sessional day tonight, whichever comes first, the Speaker shall put all questions necessary to dispose of Second Reading debate of the Bill; and that following Second Reading the Bill be ordered referred to the Standing Committee on General Government for 2 days of consideration and that when the Bill is reported back to the House it be ordered for Third Reading; and that one sessional day be allocated to Third Reading debate on the Bill and at the end of such day the Speaker shall put every question necessary to dispose of Third Reading consideration.

The Order of the Day for resuming the Adjourned Debate on the motion for an Address in Reply to the Speech of His Honour the Lieutenant Governor at the Opening of the Session having been read,

The debate was resumed, and after some time,

Mr. McGuinty moved,

That the motion be amended by adding the following thereto:-

"That the Address in Reply to the Speech of His Honour the Lieutenant Governor at the Opening of the Session be amended by striking out all of the words after `We, Her Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, now assembled,' and substituting the following":

"Whereas working families in Ontario deserve a government that will provide them with accessible healthcare, the best public education system in the world, a clean environment and a strong economy."

"Whereas the Speech from the Throne proved that the Eves government will continue to support the failed policies from the Harris regime, such as two-tier healthcare, private school tax credits, corporate taxes lower than Alabama, compromised environmental protection and the privatization of Hydro One."

"Therefore this House profoundly regrets that nothing has changed - the Eves government is out of touch with the people of Ontario and will continue to adopt policies that cater to their friends on Bay Street rather than hardworking Ontario families."

After some time, pursuant to the Order of the House passed earlier today, the motion was declared carried and the Bill was accordingly read the second time and Ordered referred to the Standing Committee on General Government.

Après quelque temps, conformément à l'ordre adopté plus tôt aujourd'hui, la motion est déclarée adoptée et en conséquence, ce projet de loi est lu une deuxième fois et déféré au Comité permanent des affaires gouvernementales.
