Teachers planning for the upcoming school year have come to the right place. The Legislative Assembly of Ontario has resources and programming to help you prepare.

For learning inside the classroom, check out our lesson plans and quizzes.  You can also view and download our education kit for information on the structure of government and Parliament, the legislative process, and more. Additionally, our interactive games are very popular with students.

If you’re looking to learn outside the classroom, bring your students to the Legislative Building. Your class can take a tour of the building or register for a 90-minute interactive education program. Explore our programs to find the right option for your students and easily reserve a time using our booking portal.

If you can’t make it to the building, we can come to you through our virtual education programming. Options are available for students in grades 4 to 12. Our virtual programs include many of the same topics as our onsite education programming, including levels of government, the legislative process, and civic engagement. Guided virtual building tours focus on the history, heritage, and architecture of the Legislative Building.

Our popular Outreach Program returns this fall, as our education team will be travelling throughout the province. View dates for when the Outreach Program will be in your area and request an in-person visit to your school.

Professional development opportunities for teachers are available at the Legislative Assembly. Teachers' Forum is a multi-day event held on site for elementary and secondary teachers to learn more about Ontario’s Legislature. There are also free online workshops available.

Whichever grade you teach, the Legislative Assembly can help prepare for a school year your students will remember.
