This being the first day of the Second Session of the Fortieth Parliament convoked by Proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor for the dispatch of business, and the members of the House having assembled:

His Honour the Lieutenant Governor entered the Legislative Chamber and, having taken his seat on the Throne, was pleased to open the Session by reading the Speech from the Throne (Sessional Paper No. 1).

His Honour was then pleased to retire.
