Ordered, That notwithstanding the Order of the House dated June 17, 2004, the Standing Committee on General Government may meet this week at the call of the Chair, and that Standing Order 74 be waived for the purposes of any such meeting.

That pursuant to Standing Order 9(c)(i), the House shall meet from 6:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, and Wednesday, March 2, 2005, for the purpose of considering government business.

The question being put on the motion, it was declared carried.

A debate arose on the motion for Third Reading of Bill 132, An Act to amend the Dog Owners' Liability Act to increase public safety in relation to dogs, including pit bulls, and to make related amendments to the Animals for Research Act.

Il s'élève un débat sur la motion portant troisième lecture du projet de loi 132, Loi modifiant la Loi sur la responsabilité des propriétaires de chiens pour accroître la sécurité publique relativement aux chiens, y compris les pit-bulls, et apportant des modifications connexes à la Loi sur les animaux destinés à la recherche.

After some time, the question having been put, the Deputy Speaker (Mr. Crozier) declared his opinion that the Ayes had it, and a recorded vote having been demanded,

The Deputy Speaker directed that the Members be called in, for which purpose the division bells were rung.

I have received a request from the Chief Government Whip, under Standing Order 28(h), that the vote on the motion for Third Reading of Bill 132, be deferred until March 1st, 2005.

J'ai reçu une requête du Whip en chef du gouvernement, conformément à l'article 28(h) du Règlement, que le vote sur la motion portant troisième lecture du projet de loi 132, soit différé jusqu'au 1er mars 2005.

Therefore the vote is accordingly deferred.

Mr. Peters moved, That the House do now adjourn.

The question, having been put on the motion, was declared carried.
