M. Curling propose,

That, in the opinion of this House, the Government of Ontario should:

Implement a comprehensive and effective training and re-training strategy relevant to today's economic and social needs;

Better utilize public and private institutional resources in order to rectify the ever-increasing learning gap;

Become an advocate on behalf of apprenticeship programmes and remove barriers in areas of fees and access to such programmes;

Initiate and crystallize a new relationship with other provincial jurisdictions and the federal government in order to better harness skills and training information and innovation and establish agreements to eliminate cross-border barriers;

Develop and implement cogent and comprehensive policy in areas of recognition of foreign credentials, transparent certification procedures, increased funding and programmes of professional re-training for foreign trained professionals.
