The Speaker addressed the House as follows:-

I beg to inform the House that I have today laid upon the Table the Annual Report of the Office of the Integrity Commissioner for the period April 1, 2001 to March 31, 2002 (Sessional Paper No. 23).

I further beg to inform the House that I have today laid upon the Table the Third Annual Report from the Lobbyists Registration Office, Office of the Integrity Commissioner, with respect to the administration of the Lobbyists Registration Act, 1998, for the period April 1, 2001 to March 31, 2002 (Sessional Paper No. 24).

Debate was resumed on the motion that this House approves in general the Budgetary Policy of the Government.

Le débat reprend sur la motion portant que la présente Assemblée adopte en général la politique budgétaire du gouvernement.

After some time,

Mr. McGuinty moved that the motion moved by the Minister of Finance on June 17 "That this House approves in general the budgetary policy of the government" be amended by deleting the words after "That this House" and adding thereto the following:-

Recognize the fact that the budget contradicts everything this government has said for the past seven years;

Does nothing to keep schools open, lower and cap class sizes or support our children with special needs;

Cynically promises to both keep and sell Hydro One;

Desperately pledges to both implement and delay corporate tax cuts; and

Miraculously supports and opposes private school tax credits simultaneously.

Therefore, this House has lost confidence in this government.

On motion by Mr. Christopherson,

Pursuant to the Order of the House of June 5, 2002, the Acting Speaker (Mr. Brown) put the question forthwith on the motion, which question was declared carried.

Conformément à l'ordre adopté par l'Assemblée le 5 juin 2002, le président par intérim, M. Brown met la motion aux voix immédiatement, et cette motion est déclarée adoptée.

And the Bill was accordingly read the third time and passed.

En conséquence, ce projet de loi est lu une troisième fois et adopté.

The Order of the Day for Third Reading of Bill 124, An Act to improve public safety and to increase efficiency in building code enforcement having been read,

Pursuant to the Order of the House of June 11, 2002, the Acting Speaker (Mr. Brown) put the question forthwith on the motion, and declared his opinion that the Ayes had it, and a recorded vote having been demanded,

Conformément à l'ordre adopté par l'Assemblée le 11 juin 2002, le président par intérim, M. Brown met la motion aux voix immédiatement, et déclare qu'à son avis les voix favorables l'emportent et un vote par appel nominal a été demandé,

The Acting Speaker directed that the Members be called in, for which purpose the division bells were rung.

Le Président par intérim donne des directives pour convoquer les députés et la sonnerie d'appel se fait entendre.

During the ringing of the bells, the Acting Speaker addressed the House as follows:-

I have received a request from the Chief Government Whip, under Standing Order 28(h), that the vote on the motion for Third Reading of Bill 124, An Act to improve public safety and to increase efficiency in building code enforcement, be deferred until June 19, 2002.

J'ai reçu une requête du Whip en chef du gouvernement, conformément à l'article 28(h) du Règlement, que le vote sur la motion portant troisième lecture du projet de loi 124, Loi visant à améliorer la sécurité publique et à accroître l'efficacité dans l'exécution du code du bâtiment, soit différé jusqu'au 19 juin 2002.

Therefore the vote is accordingly deferred.

En conséquence, le vote est différé.

Mr. Stockwell moved, That the House do now adjourn.

The question, having been put on the motion, was declared carried.
