· The Government of Ontario should appoint or designate a person or body as a special advisor to examine existing opportunities and identify methods for improving access to trades and professions in Ontario, including but not limited to the professions of medicine, nursing and engineering, for Ontarians who are foreign trained and foreign qualified.

· As part of the review, the special advisor should conduct a comprehensive review of the programs and policies of all ministries of the Government, bodies that report to those ministries and professional regulatory bodies.

· The special advisor be required to make written recommendations to the Government, within the time period that the Government establishes, on what measures the Government needs to take to enhance opportunities described in paragraph 1 that the special advisor identifies.

· As soon as possible after receiving the special advisors' recommendations, the Government table a copy of the special advisors' recommendations in the Legislature.

Mr. Dunlop - Resolution - That, in the opinion of this House, since the Prisoner Work Program makes a positive contribution to society by assigning low risk inmates to cleaning highways and graffiti-defaced buildings, immediate measures should be taken to expand the Prisoner Work Program to clean more highways and neighbourhoods in Ontario and that all assigned inmates be carefully screened, receive training and be dressed in their prison orange clothing. Filed on May 1, 2001.

3. Mr. Bryant - Resolution - That this House

Express concern that the use of date rape drugs, such as rohypnol and GHB, has escalated dramatically in recent years;

Acknowledge that a victim can only be tested for date rape drugs by first seeking a police investigation;

Acknowledge that only ten per cent of date rape drug victims choose to report their case to the police;

Is cognizant that detecting date rape drugs in blood samples is severely compromised 48 hours after it enters the blood stream;

Recognize that there is only one testing center to service the entire province with the appropriate facilities to test for these drugs; and

Demand that every person in the province of Ontario have the right to be tested for date rape drugs. Filed on May 14, 2001.

Mr. Parsons - Resolution - That in the opinion of this House, the Assembly having unanimously passed three resolutions which called for a strong and effective Ontarians with Disabilities Act to be enacted, and fixing November 23, 2001 as the deadline for it to be passed into law, in recognition of National Access Awareness Week from May 28 to June 2, 2001, Premier Mike Harris should agree to meet with representatives of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act Committee to show the Premier's leadership and accountability on the important issue of removing and preventing barriers to access now facing 1.5 million Ontarians with disabilities. 8. Mr. Guzzo - Resolution - That:

· This legislature direct the Speaker to appoint a Commission of Inquiry within 60 days of the passing of this Resolution for the purpose of investigating and reporting upon the effectiveness of the previous police investigations into sexual abuse against minors in the Cornwall area;

· The commission shall report back within eight months to the Speaker. An extension of a further eight months may be granted by the Speaker if deemed necessary;

· Any portion of the report may be made confidential and such portion shall be transmitted to the Solicitor General;

· The Commission shall receive funding from the Speaker for the purposes of making such an investigation and report. The Commission may not engage in any activity which may jeopardize any ongoing prosecution of a criminal nature;

· The Commission may apply to the Speaker for the issuance of Speaker's Warrants to compel evidence. Filed on June 6, 2001.

With respect to the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal and the Maintenance and Standards Unit, please provide the number of Form C1E (Tenant Complaint about Maintenance) submitted including the number of which resulted in a work order being issued against a landlord by an inspector where there was a finding that there were maintenance problems within the rental unit or complex. With respect to the Maintenance Standards Unit and the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal, landlords can submit a Form L6 under section 156(1) of the Tenant Protection Act, for an Application for a Review of a work Order to the Tribunal. Please provide the number of Order of the Tribunal made at hearings stemming from Form L6 applications that were decided in favour of the landlord and include the number of findings in favour of the tenant. With respect to Section 156(2) of the Tenant Protection Act, please provide the number of Provincial Work Orders that were "confirmed", the number of Provincial Work Orders that were varied, including whether varied by time and or terms, the number of Provincial Work Orders rescinded, the number of Provincial Work Orders "quashed" including the reason for each work order quashed, and the number of Provincial Work Orders complied with for each month of the years 1998, 1999, & 2000. With respect to electricity production at Ontario Power Generation's coal-fired generating stations, please provide records indicating whether production was curtailed, increased or remained unchanged on those days when a Smog Alert, issued by the Ontario Ministry of Environment, was in effect at any time during the calendar year 2000 and up to June 1, 2001.

Further, please provide information indicating the amount of electricity sold to buyers in the United States on those same Smog Days identified above. June 5, 2001.

With respect to the Unified Family Court (General Division) for the jurisdiction of Hamilton-Wentworth please provide: the number of motions filed with respect to the Child and Family Services Act; the number of motions heard with respect to the Child and Family Services Act; the number of remands ordered in all cases pertaining to the Child and Family Services Act; the number of cases settled at the first meeting; the number of cases settled at a settlement conference; the number of cases added to the trial list; the number of trials commenced relating to the Child and Family Services Act; the total number of cases disposed; the number of cases pending on the trial list as of June 1, 2001; the waiting period for a trial to be brought before the court; the number of cases handled by the Children's Aid Society; the number of cases handled by the Catholic Children's Aid Society; the amount spent of their respective budgets on legal costs; the amount of time that children in their care live in limbo as their case pends; the number of faulty records found in the record keeping of the court; the number and reason for the number of court ordered supervised visits; the length of time that cases require to be resolved in the Hamilton court as opposed to all the other family courts; the utilization of case management practices; the number of assessments performed for custody and access issues and parenting capacity. Mr. Lalonde - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care provide me with the amount of money spent annually for the past 5 years in Prescott and Russell for health care services with the exclusion of the amount spent for hospital funding. I would also require a detailed list of who received the funding. June 7, 2001.

Mr. Lalonde - Enquiry of the Ministry - Would the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs provide me with a list of the areas of investment in which the $250 million (as mentioned in your statement dated May 7, 2001) has been disbursed since 1995 in rural Ontario. The Minister also mentioned that over 20,000 new jobs have been created. Please provide specific figures for new jobs created and the areas in which they were created in Glengarry--Prescott--Russell.
