M. Hampton propose,

That this House declares its opposition to the Mike Harris income tax cuts, which put $1.4 million a day into the pockets of the top 6 percent of Ontario taxpayers, who unfairly receive 25% of the tax cut, and urges that this money be reinvested immediately in hospitals, schools, colleges and universities, environmental protection, housing and other vital services.

On motion by Mr. Sterling,

Sur la motion de M. Sterling,

Ordered, That, notwithstanding any Standing Order relating to Bill 6, An Act to amend the Child and Family Services Act in order to better promote the best interests, protection and well-being of children, when Bill 6 is next called, 2 hours and 30 minutes shall be allotted to the Second Reading stage of the bill;

That, at the end of those 2 hours and 30 minutes the Speaker shall interrupt the proceedings and put every question necessary to dispose of the Second Reading stage of the bill and the bill shall then be referred to Committee of the Whole House, for immediate consideration and that 25 minutes be allotted for consideration of the Bill at that stage;

That, at the end of that 25 minute period, the Chair of the Committee shall, without further debate or amendment, put every question necessary to dispose of all remaining sections of the bill and any amendments thereto and report the bill to the House;

That, upon receiving the report of the Committee of the Whole House, the Speaker shall put the question for adoption of the report forthwith, which question shall be decided without debate or amendment and at such time, the Bill shall be ordered for Third Reading;

That, the Order for Third Reading of the Bill shall then immediately be called and the time remaining in the Sessional Day shall be allocated to the Third Reading stage of the bill;

At 9:30 p.m., the Speaker shall interrupt the proceedings and shall put every question necessary to dispose of this stage of the bill without further debate or amendment.

That, in the case of any divisions relating to any proceeding on the bill, the division bell shall be limited to five minutes and that there shall be no deferral of the vote pursuant to Standing Order 28(h).
