EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill amends the Time Act to make the time now called daylight saving time the standard time year-round.

An Act to amend the Time Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1 (1)  Subsection 2 (1) of the Time Act is amended by striking out “five” and substituting “four”.

(2)  Subsection 2 (2) of the Act is amended by striking out “six” and substituting “five”.

(3)  Subsections 2 (3), (4) and (5) of the Act are repealed.

Commencement

2 This Act comes into force on the later of November 1, 2020 and the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3 The short title of this Act is the Ditch the Switch Act, 2020.
