The Bill amends the Highway Traffic Act. At present, subsection 176 (3) of the Act requires that drivers who are required to stop at a school crossing must remain stopped until all persons have cleared the half of the roadway on which they are travelling. The Bill changes the requirement so that drivers must remain stopped until all persons have cleared the entire roadway at the crossing.
