EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of the Bill is to correct an error made in calculating the assessment for a certain property in the City of Brampton.

An Act respecting the

City of Brampton

Preamble

The Corporation of the City of Brampton has applied for special legislation in respect of the matters set out in this Act.

It is appropriate to grant the application.

Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Assessment

1. The 1986 assessment for the 1987 taxation year of the property in the City of Brampton in The Regional Municipality of Peel owned by LDASK MBC Corporation and Bramway Properties Limited bearing assessment roll number 21 10 080 011 003 00 0000, and being the part of Lot 10, Concession 1 West of Hurontario Street (formerly in the Township of Chinguacousy, County of Peel) designated as Part 1 on Plan 43R-4790 is $996,528.

Override

2. Despite subsection 37(7) of the Assessment Act, this Act prevails over section 37 of that Act.

Short title
