The 2016 Canadian Parliamentary Committee Clerks Conference will take place in Toronto, October 13th and 14th, 2016. The general outline of the seminar will be as follows:

SEMINAR REGISTRATION
Delegates must register online via the Seminar website. The registration deadline is September 1st, 2016.
REGISTRATION FEES
A $150.00 registration fee will be charged for delegates. Please make cheques payable to “The Legislative Assembly of Ontario”. Cash payments will also be accepted at the registration desk and a receipt will be provided. Credit cards are not accepted.
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
The official arrival day is Wednesday, October 12th. A seminar registration desk will be in operation in the lobby of the hotel.
The Greater Toronto area is served by two airports – one on the city’s outskirts and one near downtown. Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is located 40 km from downtown Toronto, at approximately 30 minutes by car to the hotel; Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) is located near downtown Toronto about 15 minutes by car from the hotel.
ACCOMMODATION
All participants will be staying at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville Hotel, 220 Bloor Street West Toronto, Ontario M5S 1T8. This downtown Toronto boutique hotel is located on Bloor Street in the heart of the Bloor Yorkville shopping, University and arts district.
A block of rooms under the Legislative Assembly of Ontario has been reserved at the following rate: Deluxe Room: 1 king bed - $229/night
Delegates must make their reservations directly with the hotel online via the website provided here - InterContinental Hotels & Resorts - and on our website, or by telephone at 416-960-5200. Guests just need to select "Book Now" in the upper right-hand corner, enter the group dates, and it will bring them to a page with the special group rate.
For those delegates wishing to extend their stay, room rates will be available three days before and three days after the seminar dates.
The deadline for hotel reservations is September 1st, 2016 to ensure the group rate pricing and availability. Delegates are responsible for the cost of their room, taxes and incidental costs.
BUSINESS SESSIONS
Business sessions will take place in the Amethyst Room at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
IDENTIFICATION
It is requested that delegates wear their seminar identification at all events.
DRESS
Dress throughout the seminar is business casual.
GIFT SHOP
The Legislative Assembly Gift Shop, located in the Legislative Building, offers a wide selection of unique gifts, Ontario souvenirs and exclusive items reflecting the heritage and culture of our province. The gift shop will be open on Friday, October 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Participants will receive a 20% discount on all purchases.
DIETARY AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Please indicate your dietary and/or special requirements on the registration form. We will make every effort to accommodate you if notified in advance.
PARKING
Parking is available at the hotel at a cost of approximately:
$39.00 / 24 hours - Valet parking (unlimited in and out privileges)
$13.00 daily maximum (7:00 am – 6:00 pm) $7.00 overnight maximum (6:00 pm – 7:00 am) (no in and out privileges).
TORONTO WEATHER
Toronto has beautiful weather in October - no longer hot and humid and not yet cold. Many outdoor activities can still be enjoyed comfortably with just a little extra clothing with temperatures ranging: October average high: 14ºC / 57ºF October average low: 4ºC / 39ºF
Visitors to Toronto in October should be prepared for a variety of temperatures. Pack clothing that can be layered. Long sleeve shirts; sweaters / sweatshirts; jacket; long pants; closed-toe, comfortable shoes, boots.
