Election of Chair

The Clerk of the Committee (Ms. Julia Douglas): Good morning, everyone. It is my duty to call upon you to elect a Chair. Pursuant to standing order 117(b), the Chair of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs shall be a member of the party forming the government. Are there any nominations?

Mr. Dave Smith: Madam Clerk, I’d like to nominate Mr. Sandhu as Chair of the committee.

The Clerk of the Committee (Ms. Julia Douglas): Does the member accept the nomination?

Mr. Amarjot Sandhu: Yes, I do.

The Clerk of the Committee (Ms. Julia Douglas): Are there any further nominations? There being no further nominations, I declare the nominations closed and Mr. Sandhu elected Chair of the committee.

Appointment of subcommittee

The Chair (Mr. Amarjot Sandhu): Thank you, members, for electing me as Chair of this committee.

Good morning, honourable members. The next item on the agenda is subcommittee membership. Are there any motions? Mr. Smith.

Mr. Dave Smith: Mr. Chair, I move that Ms. Skelly be appointed to the subcommittee on committee business.

The Chair (Mr. Amarjot Sandhu): Mr. Smith has moved the subcommittee motion. Any discussion or concerns? If none, I will now put the question. Shall the motion carry? Carried. Ms. Skelly is appointed as a subcommittee member.
