Election of Chair

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Eric Rennie): Good morning, honourable members. It is my duty to call upon you to elect a Chair for the committee. Just as a reminder, pursuant to standing order 117(b), “the Chair of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs shall be a member of the party forming the government….”

Are there any nominations for Chair? MPP Baker.

Mr. Yvan Baker: I move that Ann Hoggarth be appointed Chair of the committee.

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Eric Rennie): Mr. Baker has nominated Ms. Hoggarth. Ms. Hoggarth, do you accept the nomination?

Ms. Ann Hoggarth: I do.

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Eric Rennie): Are there any further nominations for Chair? There being no further nominations, I declare the nominations closed and Ms. Hoggarth elected Chair of the committee. Ms. Hoggarth, would you please assume the chair?

Election of Vice-Chair

The Chair (Ms. Ann Hoggarth): Good morning, honourable members, and thank you very much.

It is my duty to entertain a motion for a Vice-Chair. Are there any motions? MPP Baker.

Mr. Yvan Baker: I move that Han Dong be appointed Vice-Chair of the committee.

The Chair (Ms. Ann Hoggarth): MPP Dong, do you accept the nomination?

Mr. Han Dong: I do.

The Chair (Ms. Ann Hoggarth): A motion has been moved by MPP Baker. Is there any debate?

Mr. Yvan Baker: How much time do we have?

Laughter.

The Chair (Ms. Ann Hoggarth): All right. Since there are no further nominations, I declare—oh, we need a vote. All those in favour of MPP Dong as Vice-Chair? Thank you. That’s carried.

The Chair (Ms. Ann Hoggarth): I like these kinds of meetings. I declare this adjourned.
