The Lobby – circa 1950s, 2015

Picture showing a contrasting view of the Legislative Building lobby

In the late 1940s, the east wing and lobby areas were refurbished in fire-resisting materials. The linoleum flooring was laid over the original oak floor panels.

Besides the flooring, the lobby has not undergone many changes since the 1950s. You can see the edge of the Legislative Gift Shop on the left and the Information Desk on the right, as well as the same light fixture. The paintings have changed however, and exhibits and signage have been added.
