The Lobby - c. 1950s, 2015

The lobby of the Legislative Building - the view on the left is from the 1950s, the view on the right is from present day

In the late 1940s, the east wing and lobby areas were refurbished with fire-resistant materials. The linoleum flooring was laid over the original oak floors.

Besides the flooring, the lobby has not undergone many changes since the 1950s. You can see the edge of the Legislative Assembly Gift Shop on the left and the Information Desk on the right, as well as the same light fixture. The paintings have changed; however, and exhibits and signage have been added.
