How youth can get involved with the Legislature

Students participating in Model Parliament inside the legislative Chamber

The Ontario Legislature offers a variety of programs and opportunities for youth to engage with the Legislature and learn about the legislative process.

Participate in Model Parliament

Students in grades 10 to 12 can apply to take part in Model Parliament for High School Students. In this program, participants step into the roles of members of provincial Parliament (MPPs) and take part in a simulated parliamentary session held in the Legislative Chamber. The experience also includes interactive workshops and presentations that provide insight into the work of the Legislative Assembly.

The program includes a virtual component in November, followed by a three-day, in-person session at Queen’s Park in Toronto in February. The deadline to apply is October 5.

Become a legislative page

The Page Program offers grade 7 and 8 students a unique, hands-on opportunity to experience the Legislature in action. Serving for two to four weeks, pages deliver important documents and messages to MPPs inside the Chamber, all while gaining a firsthand understanding of the parliamentary process.

The deadline to apply for the spring 2026 session is November 15.
