Appointment of subcommittee
The Clerk of the Committee (Ms. Thushitha Kobikrishna): Good afternoon, honourable members. In the absence of the Chair and Vice-Chair, it is my duty to call upon you to elect an Acting Chair. Are there any nominations? MPP Smith, Peterborough–Kawartha.
Mr. Dave Smith: I nominate MPP McGregor.
The Clerk of the Committee (Ms. Thushitha Kobikrishna): Does the member accept the nomination?
Mr. Graham McGregor: I want to thank MPP Smith, and I humbly accept the nomination.
The Clerk of the Committee (Ms. Thushitha Kobikrishna): Are there any further nominations? There being no further nominations, I declare the nominations closed and MPP McGregor elected Acting Chair of the committee.
The Acting Chair (Mr. Graham McGregor): Good afternoon, everyone. Pursuant to the order of the House dated October 30, 2023, a change to the composition of the subcommittee on committee business is required. I will now entertain a motion for the replacement of subcommittee member Ms. Stiles.
I recognize Mr. Bourgouin.
Mr. Guy Bourgouin: I move that MPP Sandy Shaw be appointed to the subcommittee on committee business.
The Acting Chair (Mr. Graham McGregor): Mr. Bourgouin has moved that MPP Shaw be appointed to the subcommittee. Do we have any discussion? Are the members ready to vote? All those in favour? All those opposed? I declare the motion carried.
