Committee business
The Chair (Mr. Ernie Hardeman): Good morning, everyone. I call this meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs to order.
On the agenda for today, we have consideration of committee business. Are there any motions members wish to raise? MPP Crawford.
Mr. Stephen Crawford: Good morning, Chair. I move that the committee enter closed session for the purpose of organizing committee business.
The Chair (Mr. Ernie Hardeman): Is there any debate on the motion? MPP Fife.
Ms. Catherine Fife: Just to be consistent, there’s no need for this committee to go in camera to set some meeting dates for a public document like budget 2023. This is a pattern that the government takes on each and every time. I have no idea what motivates it, but it makes no sense to us, and so we will not be supporting a motion to move in camera, which of course will be lost, but it’s still worth fighting about in our opinion.
