EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill amends the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation Act, 1997 to increase the number of taxpayer representatives on the board of directors of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation from four to seven. The total number of members on the board is increased from 13 to 16.

An Act to amend the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation Act, 1997

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1 Paragraph 2 of subsection 3 (2) of the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation Act, 1997 is amended by striking out “Four” at the beginning and substituting “Seven”.

Commencement

2 This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3 The short title of this Act is the Respecting Property Taxpayers Act, 2019.
