An Act to amend the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:
1. (1) Clause (b) of the definition of "head" in subsection 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act is repealed and the following substituted:
(b) in the case of any other institution, the person designated as head of that institution in the regulations or in Column 2 of the Schedule to this Act opposite to an institution designated in Column 1;
(2) Clause (b) of the definition of "institution" in subsection 2 (1) of the Act is amended by adding "or in Column 1 of the Schedule to this Act" at the end.
2. The Act is amended by adding the following Schedule:

Commencement
3. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.
Short title
4. The short title of this Act is the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Amendment Act (Institutions), 2009.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The Bill amends the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act to add a number of bodies to the list of institutions as defined in the Act.
