An Act respecting the

City of Toronto

Preamble

The Corporation of the City of Toronto, under section 5 of The City of Toronto Act, 1947, holds the fee simple in the land described in Schedule D of that Act, subject to a right of way in favour of the owners or occupants of the abutting land. The Corporation of the City of Toronto has applied for special legislation to render these rights of way subject to the Expropriations Act.

It is appropriate to grant the application.

Therefore, Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Application of Expropriations Act

1. The Expropriations Act applies to the expropriation by The Corporation of the City of Toronto of the rights of way created by section 5 of The City of Toronto Act, 1947 over the land described in Schedule D of that Act.

Commencement

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short title

3. The short title of this Act is the City of Toronto Act, 1996.
