When the Legislature meets, the Speaker presides over the meeting from the chair while surrounded by the Legislative Pages - Grade 7 and 8 students who act as messengers in the Chamber. The Clerk and Table Clerks sit at a table in front of the Speaker, providing a wide range of support to Ontario's Members of Provincial Parliament, including procedural advice, the counting of votes on bills and the management of timing during debates.
