General Education Program
Recommended for Grades 4-8
Program length: 60 minutes
Our general program for school groups is customized to the group's knowledge level, interests and curriculum expectations. This program includes a visit to the Legislative Chamber where the students will participate in an interactive session where they will be introduced to Ontario's Parliament, and a historical tour of the Legislative Building. Please note, when the Legislature is in session, students may have an opportunity to watch a debate from the public galleries. Try one of our games or activities in class
Topics Covered
- The roles of the key parliamentary players and the responsibilities of a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP)
- A brief review of the levels of government with emphasis given to the function of Ontario's Legislative Assembly
- Architectural features and interesting details about the Chamber and the building.

Monday to Thursday (when the Legislature is sitting): 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm *Consult the Parliamentary Calendar
Monday to Friday (when the Legislature is not sitting*): 8:00 am - 10:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
