How do I book a program?
Requests for programs can be submitted online via our request form or by calling Tour Bookings at 416-325-0061. Once your request has been approved, you will receive an e-mail to confirm the date and time of your visit.
How long is the Democracy Day program?
The Democracy Day program is a full-day program, offered from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. A half-day modified program for younger students is available from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Please call 416-325-0061 for more information.
Can the program times be shortened?
No, program times are firm due to the number of planned activities throughout the day.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Bookings are accepted up to two weeks prior to the scheduled date. If you wish to check availability on short notice, please call Tour Bookings at 416-325-0061.
Do you offer programs in other languages?
Programs are offered in English or French. Please request your language preference at the time of booking. If you require ASL interpretation, please let us know three weeks in advance so that we may accommodate your request.
What are the minimum and maximum number of participants for the program?
The minimum number required is 20 students, and the maximum number, including chaperones and students, is 70.
Do I need a certain number of chaperones for my tour?
A minimum of two chaperones per program is required.
What do I need to bring for my visit?
Everyone over age 16 is required to present a piece of government photo identification in order to gain entry to the Legislative Building. Please ensure that all teachers and chaperones have their identification with them on the day of the visit. Also bring a copy of the confirmation e-mail and signed photo release form (unless submitted in advance).
Is lunch provided?
Yes, a pizza lunch is provided for all participants. Dietary restrictions, such as vegetarian and gluten free, must be made known in advance to accommodate the request.
Where can our bus park?
There is no public parking at the Legislative Building. Street parking and pay parking lots are located nearby. A bus drop-off zone is located in front of the building.
Who do I call if we are running late?
If your group is running late, please call us as soon as possible at 416-325-7500.
What do we do when we arrive at Queen's Park?
Arrive to the south entrance of the Legislative Building, and remain on the bus. A staff member will board your bus on arrival, and will provide further instructions. If arriving on foot, a staff member will greet you on arrival outside the south entrance. For the full-day program starting at 9:00 am, arrive no later than 8:45 am. For the half day program starting at 10:00 am, arrive no later than 9:45 am.
