The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Eric Rennie): Good afternoon, honourable members. As the Clerk of your committee, it is my duty to call upon you to elect a Chair. Are there any nominations for Chair? Mr. Babikian.

Mr. Aris Babikian: I would suggest Natalia Kusendova for the Chair position.

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Eric Rennie): Mr. Babikian has nominated Ms. Kusendova.

Ms. Kusendova, do you accept the nomination?

Ms. Natalia Kusendova: I do.

The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Eric Rennie): Thank you very much. Are there any further nominations for Chair? There being no further nominations, I declare the nominations closed and Ms. Kusendova elected Chair of the committee.

Election of Vice-Chair

The Chair (Ms. Natalia Kusendova): Good afternoon. It is my duty to entertain a motion for Vice-Chair. Are there any motions? Mr. Thanigasalam.

Mr. Vijay Thanigasalam: I move that Mr. Aris Babikian be appointed Vice-Chair of the committee.

The Chair (Ms. Natalia Kusendova): Are there any other nominations?

Appointment of subcommittee

The Chair (Ms. Natalia Kusendova): The committee membership motion that carried in the House on Monday, October 28, left a vacancy on our subcommittee on committee business. Is there a motion to appoint a government member to the subcommittee? Mr. Thanigasalam.

Mr. Vijay Thanigasalam: I move that Mr. Mike Harris be appointed to the subcommittee on committee business.
