Election of Chair
The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): Good morning, honourable members. It is my duty to call upon you to elect a Chair. Are there any nominations? Mr. Gill.
Mr. Parm Gill: I would like to nominate Mr. Baber as Chair of the committee.
The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): Mr. Baber, do you accept the nomination?
Mr. Roman Baber: Yes.
The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): Are there any further nominations? Mr. Yarde.
Mr. Kevin Yarde: I’d like to nominate Gurratan Singh to be appointed to the subcommittee on committee business.
The Clerk of the Committee (Mr. Christopher Tyrell): We are first dealing with the election of the Chair. We will get to the subcommittee shortly, though.
Are there any other nominations for Chair? There being no further nominations, I declare the nominations closed and Mr. Baber elected Chair of the committee. Mr. Baber, if you would please come up.
Election of Vice-Chair
The Chair (Mr. Roman Baber): Good morning, members. It is my duty to entertain a motion for Vice-Chair. Are there any motions? Mr. McDonell.
Mr. Jim McDonell: I move that Ms. Triantafilopoulos be appointed Vice-Chair of the committee.
The Chair (Mr. Roman Baber): Any other nominations? Any debate? Are members ready to vote? Shall the motion carry? Motion passed.
Appointment of subcommittee
The Chair (Mr. Roman Baber): I’d like to entertain a motion for appointment of a subcommittee. Mr. Gill.
Mr. Parm Gill: Thank you, Mr. Chair. I move that Mr. Coe be appointed to the subcommittee on committee business.
